Our Board of Directors consists of dedicated parents and community members who volunteer their time and expertise for the betterment of St. Gabriel Child Care Centres. The Board’s mandate is to make sound business decisions for the whole organization while governing the corporation (namely St. Gabriel Child Care Centres). The Board manages the financial and business affairs of the organization with decision made in the best interest of the children attending the programs. The Board welcomes interested parents to come forward to become members and/or participate as a guest in the monthly meetings. While becoming a member involves a few hours of personal time, the personal satisfaction of playing an active role in your child’s development is well worth the effort.
Our Board of Directors meets once a month for approximately 2-3 hours at a time. Committee initiatives may require additional hours per month. There is ongoing support and resources available to both our new and seasoned Board members.

Chairs Board Meetings and AGM, represent the childcare center at public or official functions, assist Executive Director as required, ensure that the various committees of the board are operational and functioning in accordance with their Terms of Reference and may be asked to perform other duties from time to time be determined by the Board of Directors.

The Vice-Chair shall have all the powers and perform all the duties of the President in the absence or inability or refusal to act, of the President and shall perform any other duties assigned by the President and/or the Board of Directors.
Attends all Board Meetings and be the custodian and taker of Board minutes of the corporation and perform such other duties as require.
Is the Chair of the Finance committee, be responsible to ensure the books of account and accounting records be responsible to ensure the books of the corporation required to be kept by the provisions of the Corporations Act are up to date and in good order. The Treasurer submits a financial report at each Board Meeting, liaises with the HR Committee Chair regarding salary scales, increases and benefit package reviews. Submits an annual financial report, to the Board and the corporation, assists the Executive Director in preparing the annual budget, and ensuring that all bills are paid, fee payments are received, while ensuring the accuracy and currency of all bank records.
