Our next Parent meeting will feature our awesome cook (and foodie) Jenny Arena from `Fables and Focaccia`. Join us for a meet and greet with staff and board members and a fun cooking activity with tips on healthy eating for happy bellies. Jenny has shared a little bit about herself below…
‘Ciao my name is Jenny Arena, born Canadian, but Italian at heart. The daughter of Southern Italian immigrants, who instilled in me at a young age, a true appreciation for food. It is a love affair with early beginnings in my childhood that has grown and matured with me into adulthood.
While I have an affinity for Italian food, particularly the Calabrian cuisine on which I was raised, I have a passion for food that spans across the continents. A passion that is both plated and penned. I began to chronicle my culinary experiences 8 years ago sharing family stories and recipes and have had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful people, including some of my culinary icons, as well as working with and collaborating with several brands and establishments. In addition to writing for my own blog I am a contributor to several publications and online communities. In addition to food writing, I work in collaboration with brands on recipe development as well as offering culinary instruction.’
At St. Gabriel Child Care Centres, we encourage open and regular communication amongst parents and staff to ensure a successful program where each child can reach their fullest potential.
