Family Day Fun 2019

Looking for family friendly fun to celebrate the long weekend?  We’ve compiled a list of some of the great activities and events taking place in Toronto and the GTA.

KidsFestTO 2019 and Family Fun Fest

KidFestTO is taking place at the International Centre, all weekend long from 10am to 6pm.  The event features 80,000 square feet of pure fun with inflatables, shows, interactive activities, games, crafts and more.

This event is so big, it’s branched out to a second location at Downsview Park under the name Family Fun Fest.   The fun here includes a large indoor amusement park with an impressive line-up of Kiddy Rides, Jumping Castles, Giant Slides, Obstacle Courses, Arcade Games, Attractions, Carnival Games and Interactive entertainment!

2019 LunarFest in Markham

Celebrate the Year of the Pig in Unionville Saturday and Sunday at a free event taking place at Varley Art Gallery.  Admire beautiful artwork, immerse yourself in the sounds of the culture and create your own Pig Hero lantern and take a money bath and “gong” for the fortune!  The event runs from 11:00am to 4:00pm.

Kidapalooza Family Festival

Also taking place in Markham this family day weekend is Kidapalooza.  Running from February 16-18, 2019 at the Markham Fairgrounds, the event will feature activity stations, interactive inflatables, mechanical rides, stage shows, rock climbing, special guest appearances, and more! There is also an artisan market where you shop local.

ROM Family Day Weekend

Included with Museum admission on Family Day weekend added fun at the ROM.  Celebrate a rich, multicultural landscape with musical performances, hands-on activities, and more!  Activities will run from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Family Winter Fun Day at Fort York

Celebrate Family Day Monday at Fort York from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm with numerous activities including: face painting, dressing up in period costumes and experiencing unique and interactive pop-up exhibitions, performances and crafts.   Bring your skates and enjoy public skating on the Bentway.

Cut, paste and explore! Epic all-day collage party on Family Day at the AGO

On Monday, February 18 from 10:30am to 4:00pm, it’s a collage party of epic proportions at the AGO! The Art Gallery will be bursting with activity, inspired by the larger than life portraits on view in Mickalene Thomas: Femmes Noires. There will be dance lessons by FlowHer House Collective in Walker Court, music by DJ Iced Misto, a family karaoke lounge in Galleria Italia, lessons in Zine making, collage making fun, family friendly tours, colour changing lemonade and much, much more.

Family Day at Ontario Place

Explore Toronto’s winter oasis on the waterfront, Monday, February 18th for Family Day at Ontario Place.  The free event runs from 2:00pm to 10:00pm and includes the renowned Winter Light Exhibition, DJ Skate Parties with DJ Fawn Big Canoe and DJ Shane Mackinnon, a YMCA Kids Winter Pop Up and a complimentary screening of A Beautiful Planet at the Cinesphere.

City of Vaughan

Here is in Vaughan, the City’s community centres will be open.  In addition to regularly scheduled recreation programs and swim lessons, residents can enjoy free activities such as recreational skating, sports and fitness classes, plus access to games rooms and fitness centres.  Recreational swimming will also be available for half price at all pools.   Contact your local community centre for more information.
