Among the many celebrations during the month of May is Teacher Appreciation Day. To show how royally we appreciate our incredible educators we organized a high tea, which was aptly timed to coincide with the Royal Wedding.
Just as the memorable nuptials could not have happened without the extraordinary efforts of many, so our centre could not operate without the teamwork and collaboration of our dedicated staff. To this list of positive attributes we can also add creativity which they demonstrated when engaged in a friendly competition, a few days prior, to create their high tea attire and fashion beautiful and elaborate fascinators out of crafting supplies.
Our staff appre-tea-tion took place on Friday, May 18th where one of activity rooms was transformed into a tea room with a regally set table upon which our delectable high tea was set. Lemon raspberry lemonade, loose leaf teas, cucumber and watercress sandwiches (with the crusts cut off of course), scones and trifle were just part of what we enjoyed partaking in together before everyone was gifted with a custom crown shaped cookie, single brew tea and Gerbera daisy as a token of appreciation for being so tea-riffic.
We felt it was only fitting to plan this celebratory feast for after all, “a teacher nourishes the soul of a child for a lifetime”.
