2020 has looked quite different and as the year draws to a close, we want to take the time to focus on the things we are incredibly thankful for, our loved ones and friends, health, love and laughter, food to fill our tummy’s and a warm place to sleep.

Wrapping Up 2020 Dear Parents/Guardians, 2020 has looked quite different and as the year draws to a close, we want to take the time to focus on the things we are incredibly thankful for, our loved ones and friends, health, love and laughter, food to fill our tummy’s and a warm place to sleep. On November 23rd, 2020 we held our Annual General Meeting virtually where we celebrated the successes of the 2019-2020 year; successes that came as a result of the collaborative efforts of our parents, staff and Volunteer Board of Directors. We are forever grateful but sad to see some board members leaving us. We thank our board for their time and commitment to our centres and we welcome the new 2020-2021 Board of Directors: • Kathy Bui • Josie Martiniello • Stefania Nae • Stephanie Di Federico • Karolyn Petinarelis • Vhahiny Poologaindran • Carmela Mantia • Jessica Colorocco We look forward to working alongside this dedicated group of parents and community members who volunteer their time to form our Board of Directors and the new opportunities to prosper as we continue to build on our core values and sense of community. If there was a word to encapsulate this year, it would be “TOGETHERNESS.” St. Gabriel Child Care Centres rallied together to continue to create communities and classrooms that are safe and supportive for all children. The staff has continued to show compassion, positivity, perseverance, innovation, ingenuity and collaboration through this time and will continue to champion our children in 2021. In the spirit of giving, we as a community supported Rose of Sharon; an organization dedicated to supporting young families, young pregnant and parenting mothers. The generosity our staff and families have shown will ensure that these mothers and families Christmas’ shine a little brighter this year. Our most heartfelt thanks to everyone for their contributions to our 2020 Holiday Giving Campaign, which celebrates the true spirit of the season. Our children have been fortunate enough to commemorate the season in a number of different ways; Winter and Christmas activities and crafts, cookie and cupcake baking and decorating, letters to Santa, visit’s from their classroom Elf’s, building a Tree of Kindness and ornament decorating.
